Journalist James Pearce has suggested that Curtis Jones could be Adam Lallana’s replacement.

Lallana departed Liverpool for Brighton and Hove Albion recently. With that being the case, a spot has opened up.

According to Pearce, the club believe that Jones is almost the “perfect replacement” for Lallana.

Pearce told The Athletic’s Ornstein & Chapman Podcast (11:55): “Liverpool view [Jones] as almost the perfect replacement for Adam Lallana, who of course has moved on in a free transfer to Brighton.”

So far, Jones has made 13 appearances for Liverpool’s first XI.

He has scored three goals and registered one assist. One of those goals came against Everton at Anfield in the FA Cup.

The aforementioned goal that Jones scored against the Toffees highlighted that he has ability. It was an absolute screamer from outside the box.

Hopefully Jones can go on and replace Lallana. If Jones can perform and be Lallana’s direct replacement, he will save Liverpool a bit of money.

Liverpool ultimately spent €31 million on Lallana back in 2014. Jones is a Scouser himself, so he knows what it means to play for a club like Liverpool.

With that being the case, we believe he will leave no stone unturned.
