Journalist James Pearce is convinced that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will field his strongest XI against Leicester City on Boxing Day.
The Reds are currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table. The Foxes are sitting second and are eight points behind the league leaders.
Klopp’s side travel to the King Power Stadium on Boxing Day, and with how the season has played out thus far, there is no denying this is a big clash.
Pearce, who is employed by The Athletic, has stated that he has picked up on a trend in regards to the teams Klopp has fielded recently. The Reds are in the middle of a busy December period, meaning rotation has been necessary.
Writing in a Q&A for The Athletic, Pearce said: “Klopp keeps on picking teams based on the opposition LFC are facing and the physical condition of his players.
“You can guarantee he will field his strongest possible XI at the King Power on Boxing Day.”
Klopp will absolutely have to field his strongest team available come Boxing Day. Brendan Rodgers’ side are to be taken seriously this season.
Liverpool only just got past the Foxes at Anfield earlier this season in a 2-1 victory.
Leicester City have won the Premier League in the past, which does highlight that the club have the experience to handle the occasion, regardless of the fact the team has changed since the unbelievable 2015-16 season.
However, as of this week in the Premier League, the Reds welcome Watford to Anfield. The Foxes welcome Norwich City.
