Heerenveen winger Chidera Ejuke claims to have had a trial with Liverpool Football Club.

Ejuke has stated that he was on trial for a couple of weeks at Liverpool. However, the trial did not go the way he wanted it to. The 22-year-old said “it wasn’t a success”.

“I was selected with a couple of my friends,” Ejuke told Super Eagles on an Instagram live video when asked about the time he was on trial at Liverpool.

“I did the trials for a couple of weeks and it didn’t seem that Liverpool were interested then.

“All of a sudden, it wasn’t a success. You feel bad. I felt like I disappointed my agent, my family, the people that believed in me. I never thought something like that would happen.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Ejuke has had a solid 2019-20 season for Heerenveen. He has scored 10 goals and registered six assists in 29 appearances.

Going by footage, Ejuke appears to be a player that has plenty of pace and flair. Liverpool would have their reasons for not signing Ejuke.

Going by Ejuke’s aforementioned comments, it does appear that he was keen to make an impression on the Reds. However, it was just not meant to be for the Nigerian.

Going by the aforementioned statistics and footage, I still think Ejuke will have a solid career in the game. He is only 22 years of age after all.

Maybe one day the Reds will look at him again if he continues to improve.
