Liverpool have potentially been handed a triple injury boost ahead of this weekend’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Reds travel to North London 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table. The club also possesses a game in hand.
According to the Liverpool Echo and Jack Sear, the Reds could have three players back from injury for the clash. Fabinho has returned to training this week having not played for the Reds since November.
Joel Matip, who has not played for the club since October, has also been training, according to Sear. Xherdan Shaqiri, who was also spotted at training by Sear, appears to have recovered from his short-term injury.
This is major news for the club. Fabinho and Matip are both in Jurgen Klopp’s first XI when fit. Liverpool have been short of numbers in recent times, as injuries have taken a toll.
With a busy second-half of the season underway, the Reds need everyone pitching in. The reality is, to win a Premier League title, you need key players fit.
Fabinho and Matip very much fit under that criteria. Shaqiri does not, but he is a handy squad player nonetheless.
