“I would like to get out on loan”: Liverpool youngster opens up on future plans

Liverpool youngster Adam Lewis has stated that he would like to go out on loan next season.

Lewis, who mainly plays as a left-back, said that Liverpool’s first XI is very difficult to break into.

With that being the case, he would like to play senior football elsewhere for the time being.

Lewis told Liverpool’s official website: “I haven’t played much during the past 12 months so the main thing is to stay fit, stay healthy, stay safe and keep everyone else safe.

“I would like to get out on loan, which is my aim for next season to get that experience. Sometimes people will ask me why aren’t I at Melwood or training with the first team, but you’ve got to realise you are playing for the best team in the world..

“This is probably one of the hardest teams to get into right now, so getting out on loan and being around a senior environment will help me as a player because I’ll be training with men.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Lewis has made one senior appearance for Liverpool’s first XI. That particular appearance came against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup this season.

That highlights that Lewis has not really been involved in Jurgen Klopp’s plans. With that being the case, going out on loan would be the best thing for his development.

At this current moment, it is unclear what the future holds for the 20-year-old. If Lewis has told the club’s official website that he would like a loan move, then there is a fair possibility that he will get what he wants.

The aforementioned statistic highlight that he is not a regular in Klopp’s team, which means that the club are more than likely going to allow him to leave on loan.

Hopefully he can get a move to a Premier League club, as it will give him an idea of what it is like to play in the same division that Liverpool feature in.
