Journalist James Pearce believes that Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius will depart the club this summer.

Karius, who arrived at Liverpool in 2016, has made 49 appearances for the club. Karius has spent the last two years on loan at Besiktas.

Pearce believes that the shot-stopper will depart Anfield this summer. Pearce thinks that there was some recent interest from Montpellier.

Pearce also added that Liverpool are looking to sell Karius for £5-6 million.

Pearce told The Athletic’s Red Agenda Podcast, as quoted by This Is Futbol: “[Loris] Karius will [leave]. I think Liverpool are very keen to find a new home for him.

“There’s no way back at Liverpool for him that I can see. I think there was some interest recently from Montpellier. Liverpool are still hoping to get five or six million for him.

“Of course, they did feel at one point that he would be joining Besiktas permanently, but that fell through.”

It would be fair to say that Karius’ time at the club has come to an end. He has the likes of Alisson, Adrian and Caoimhín Kelleher ahead of him.

Karius currently has a market value of €3.20 million. With that being the case, Liverpool will be doing well to gain a transfer fee of £5-6 million for the sale of Karius.

Karius’ current contract expires in 2022. If Karius does depart Liverpool soon, we wish him all the best in the future.

Karius did help Liverpool get to the 2018 Champions League final after all. He made 13 appearances in the Champions League that season.
