Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian has stated that he does not intend to leave the club in the summer.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp signed Adrian on a free transfer ahead of the 2019-20 season.
Alisson, who is Liverpool’s No.1 goalkeeper, injured himself in the opening game of the 2019-20 Premier League season against Norwich City, which meant that Adrian was a required player at Anfield right from the beginning.
Adrian has made 18 appearances for Liverpool this season, which highlights that he has been an important squad player for the club.
Adrian told Radio Sevilla: “I see myself in Liverpool at the moment.
“I still have many years of football left, and we will see. I have one more year and another optional one. Right now I wouldn’t change anything to be here in Liverpool and enjoy this beautiful moment.”
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
It has been reported that Liverpool will be quiet in the upcoming transfer window due to a lack of funds. With that being the case, it is important that Adrian remains at Liverpool.
If Liverpool are struggling financially, then it would be difficult to replace Adrian at this current moment. That is why it is good to hear that he is committed to the club.
Adrian ultimately gives the club depth. The Spaniard is the type of player Klopp can call upon regardless of the situation.
That statement can be backed up by the fact that Adrian played in the UEFA Super Cup final against Chelsea at the beginning of the season.
Adrian had only just arrived at the club, but he still won Liverpool the match by saving Tammy Abraham’s spot-kick. The Reds won the game 5-4 win on penalties.
