Hertha Berlin are eager to keep Liverpool loanee Marko Grujic at the club beyond the end of his loan deal, according to the Echo.
The Serbian has made 21 appearances this season and bagged five goals, with his most recent coming at the weekend against Augsburg.
And the Bundesliga side are keen to sign him on a permanent deal once his loan spell comes to an end.
Hertha head coach Pal Dardai said: “I’ve been at Hertha for 22 years. This isn’t meant as an insult to anyone else.
“But Marko is by far the best midfielder I’ve seen in my time at the club.”
Hertha’s director of sport, Michael Preetz, was open about his intentions when asked about Grujic recently, saying: “After the champion fight in England is over, I’ll now call Jurgen Klopp.”
Liverpool will demand upwards of £20million for Grujic if any club approach them with a view to a permanent transfer.
