Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara “would absolutely love to move to Liverpool”, according to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol.

Solhekol stated that he has been informed that Thiago wants to depart Bayern Munich. Thiago reportedly wants a new challenge.

With that being the case, the midfielder would apparently love to play under Reds boss Jurgen Klopp. Solhekol added that Klopp believes that Thiago is a “fantastic player”.

Solhekol told Sky Sports: “They [Liverpool supporters)] want their club to make signings and the one name that really excites them is Thiago Alcantara, the Bayern Munich midfielder.”

“Our information is, he has made it clear that he wants to leave Bayern, he’s only got a year left on his contract, he wants a new challenge, he wants to play in the Premier League and he would absolutely love to move to Liverpool and play under Jurgen Klopp.”

“Klopp thinks he is an absolutely fantastic player, he has sung his praises on numerous occasions before, but our information is that Liverpool are not looking to strengthen their midfield this summer, and there is zero indication that it is going to change.”

We can’t possibly say if Thiago will be at Anfield next season. Time will eventually tell.

The thing we took out of this update is that a top player wants to play for Liverpool now.

Thiago is valued at €48 million, which highlights that he is a top player.

It was not that long ago that players were turning the Reds down. Alexis Sanchez turned down a move to Liverpool in favour of Arsenal back in 2014.

Another example is Willian, who went to Chelsea instead of Liverpool back in 2013. Perhaps in the past, Thiago never would have fancied a move to Liverpool.

But, when a club claims the Champions League and Premier League title within 12 months, everything about the place becomes more attractive to rival players.
