Reds right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold started for Liverpool against Burnley at Anfield last night.
However, it was a night to forget for the 22-year-old. Alexander-Arnold attempted 18 crosses on the night, but he failed to complete one.
Also, Alexander-Arnold finished the match with a WhoScored player rating of 6.31, which highlights that his overall performance on the night was average.
Some Liverpool fans responded to @Watch_LFC’s tweet regarding Alexander-Arnold’s performance against the Clarets.
The aforementioned fans stated that the right-back should be dropped as a result of his form this season.

He needs to be benched, he's been awful for a while now. Something isn't right, he needs dropping while he sorts it out.

Doesnt deserve to play next game but it doesn’t help when our back up is horrendous

He's been awful since his calf injury earlier this season. But tonights performance was something else. Absolutely terrible. Needs dropping without a doubt.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
We don’t agree with the aforementioned responses. Alexander-Arnold is not playing so poorly that he should be dropped.
The right-back is averaging a WhoScored player rating of 6.70 across the 2020-21 campaign.
The aforementioned figure highlights that he is not completely out of form.
Alexander-Arnold has a current market value of €110 million. The fact that Alexander-Arnold is valued so highly highlights that he could be performing to a higher standard this season.
However, as he is still a youngster, we are backing him in to get back to his best.
