Pundit Chris Sutton has stated that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane would be “stupid” to turn down the opportunity to play for a club like Liverpool.

Kane has turned into a phenomenal player during his time at Spurs. The striker has scored 136 goals in 198 games for the club, but he has nothing to show for it from a trophy point of view.

Sutton ultimately believes that if Kane wants to go on and win trophies at club level, he needs to move on from Spurs.

Sutton also stated that Kane would be “stupid” to turn down the chance to play for a club like Liverpool or Manchester City.

“We all understand he wants to win something. So if he wants to win something, I wouldn’t begrudge him a move,” he told the BBC.

“Spurs are a brilliant club, but at this moment in time they are way behind the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

“If one of those clubs came in for him, if you were Harry Kane you would be be stupid not to go.

“I can understand the predicament he is in..

“But if he wants to win the Premier League, then he should move on and go to a club who have better chance of winning it than Spurs do.”

Sutton does make a fair point, but Kane does not appear to be the type of player that Liverpool would be interested in.

The Reds have never genuinely been linked to the Englishman, which does suggest that Liverpool have no interest in him.

If reports are anything to go by, RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner is the player that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp wants.
