A number of Liverpool fans have reacted to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exclusion from the latest England international squad.

Alexander-Arnold has been left out of England’s squad for the upcoming matches against San Marino, Albania and Poland, with Reece James, Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier all selected ahead of him by Gareth Southgate.

This means that there are no Liverpool players in the England squad, with Curtis Jones the only player away with England out of the senior squad – with the midfielder with the under-21’s for their European Championships group stage.

These Liverpool fans reacted to Paul Joyce’s Tweet confirming the news, with some happy that he will be getting a rest…

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Given the truncated nature of this season due to last year’s lockdown and late start to the campaign, a rest could be useful for Alexander-Arnold. The defender has started 32 matches for Liverpool in all competitions, showing how much Jurgen Klopp has relied upon him at right-back with little room for rotation behind him.

This means that Alexander-Arnold could benefit greatly from an extended rest, especially with Liverpool having a three-week break before their next match. With Liverpool out of the FA Cup, the Reds do not have a match this weekend ahead of the two-week international break, which means that Alexander-Arnold can now have three weeks to focus solely on training and being ready to face Arsenal at the start of April.
