Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker was up against Liverpool forward Sadio Mane on the weekend.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes that Mane was causing Walker problems on the football pitch.

“You very rarely see Kyle Walker troubled when he’s one on one because of his pace,” Neville told Sky Sports during Liverpool’s clash against Manchester City (08/11/20).

“But I think Mane’s got him here. I think he’s really having to work hard.

“Both physically and in his mind, Kyle Walker to live with Mane. He knows he is in a game.”

To be fair, Mane was fouled by Walker inside the penalty area, which meant that Liverpool received a spot-kick.

The aforementioned incident does suggest that Walker was not having an easy time playing on the Senegal international.

Walker finished the Premier League fixture with a WhoScored player rating of 5.66.

Mane’s WhoScored player rating come the end of the match was 7.01.

The aforementioned numbers highlight that Mane clearly won the battle, but he is a world-class footballer, so that does not come as a shock to us.

The fact that Mane has a current market value of €120 million backs up that particular argument.

Mane has had a bright start to the 2020-21 campaign. After 11 appearances this season, Mane has scored five goals and registered three assists.
