Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards believes Liverpool have had some luck to begin the 2019/2020 Premier League season.
Liverpool currently sit at the top of the table with a nine-point lead over Manchester City after 13 games.
Richards did confess that the Reds have been solid in the early parts of the season, but he is adamant Liverpool will drop points.
“It seems everything is falling into place for Liverpool at the moment,” said Richards in an interview with Goal.
“I’m not making excuses, I’m just being honest in terms of decisions, like VAR when we played them.
“But they played really well and they deserve to be there. Man City have been unlucky with injuries at the wrong time and also with suspensions, but I think it’s too early to decide [who will win the league].
“Liverpool will drop points between now and the end of the season and I do believe that, come February, March time, the point deficit will be a lot smaller.”
