Former England goalkeeper Rob Green believes that the season is over for Liverpool shot-stopper Adrian.

Adrian, who signed for Liverpool on a free transfer in the summer of 2019, has been solid for Liverpool.

However, he made a terrible error against Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Tuesday night. The Reds left Stamford Bridge with a 2-0 defeat due to goals scored by Willian and Ross Barkley.

Adrian was at fault for Willian’s goal, as he dropped the Brazilians shot over the line. Green believes that is the last time Adrian will feature for the Reds this season.

Green told The Debate: “He’s been brilliant when’s come in. He’s made a mistake tonight.

“When you lose in a defeat that’s one or two goals, and it is that goal which sets the ball rolling, it makes it worse.

“That’s season over, he’s going to have to sit and have a watching brief for the rest of the season. It’s a tough one to take.”

Green probably does make a good point. Unless Alisson were to get injured or suspended, it is unlikely that Adrian will play again this season.

He has been the reserve goalkeeper for the entirety of the season, and he has done well when called upon. However, there is no denying that he is not as trustworthy as Alisson.
