Young Liverpool midfielder Leighton Clarkson could be the next to move away from the Reds on loan to Blackburn Rovers, with a report emerging that the men from Ewood Park are interested in signing the midfielder.

The youngster looks a real talent in the middle of the park and Liverpool will want to manage him carefully to ensure he gets the very best out of him and his potential.

That, then, could mean he’s on course to get a loan deal in the near future with the Lancashire Telegraph claiming that Rovers are interested in him:

This could be a good move for Clarkson in terms of helping his progress as a young footballer.

He looks a very smart player in the middle of the park but he is not yet ready for first-team football at a club like Liverpool.

Blackburn have shown what they can do for Liverpool players after Harvey Elliott had an excellent campaign there and it is clear there is a good relationship between them and the Reds.

That could pave the way for Clarkson to move on, then, but it remains to be seen if a firm offer to do so is made.
