Former Red Emile Heskey has tipped Liverpool to sign Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has plenty of options when it comes to picking his midfield, but there is no denying that he lacks a player that can create something out of nothing.

Ruiz, 23, has not been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past, but Heskey believes that the midfielder would add something to Liverpool’s midfield.

“Fabian Ruiz looks like a phenomenal player and Liverpool’s midfield is an area that needs strengthening a little bit with it ageing,” Heskey told GentingBet, as quoted by the Mirror.

“A player like that would be good for Liverpool. Someone who can drive from the midfield, someone who can create stuff – he is a player that I’m sure Liverpool would love to have.”

One could see this type of transfer occurring, as it has not been mentioned in the mainstream media.

Klopp has always kept transfers quite, which means no one really knows that they are occurring until the club have announced something.

Ruiz certainly has talent. Liverpool have not really replaced midfielder Philippe Coutinho, who departed Anfield for Barcelona in 2018.

The Brazilian brought a spark to Liverpool’s midfield, which has not been seen since. However, it has not impacted results too greatly, as Liverpool have had plenty of success as of late.

Despite this being the case, there are times when Liverpool have been in desperate need of a player such as Ruiz this season.
