Philippe Coutinho is “very excited” about his return to Anfield to face his former side, according to the Mirror.

The attacking midfielder will line up for Barcelona against Liverpool later this month as the two sides aim to reach the Champions League final.

The former Reds No.10 scored in the demolition of Manchester United at the Nou Camp amid speculation around his future with the La Liga giants.

Many Liverpool fans no longer hold Coutinho in high regard after he pushed through a move the Barcelona in January 2018.

However, the Brazilian seems to be optimistic about stepping onto the hallowed turf at Anfield again.

When asked “How do you feel about playing against Liverpool?” in a recent Instagram Q&A, he responded: “Very excited!”

Coutinho will be joined by fellow former Red Luis Suarez in what’s sure to be an electrifying Champions League tie.
