Ajax forward Dusan Tadic believes that his side would have defeated Liverpool in the Champions League final last season.
Liverpool defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in Madrid to claim the 2019 Champions League title. Ajax very nearly made the final, but they were defeated in the final moments of their semi-final tie against Spurs.
Dusan Tadic: "If Ajax had gotten what they deserve against Tottenham, we would’ve defeated Liverpool in the final. We would’ve not played as badly as Tottenham, and we would’ve been much more inspired than Liverpool, their defence wouldn’t have been able to cope against us." pic.twitter.com/rL6P8KIdEm

These comments from Tadic are bizarre. The reality is, Ajax did not even make the final. The two best teams within Europe that particular season fought it out in Madrid.
Liverpool were the winners and that is all that matters. Tadic can say whatever he wants regarding the final. Sure, Liverpool were not at their best on the night, but they found a way to claim the victory.
Liverpool will have plenty to do this week to defend their Champions League title. The Reds lost the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Atletico Madrid 1-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. A big response is needed at Anfield.
