Liverpool Football Club have recently signed a new kit deal with Nike that has got the imagination going of many graphic designers.
Many concept kits have been posted online as a result of the five-year deal Liverpool signed with Nike at the backend of 2019. Liverpool and Nike will officially be partners as of June 1 2020.
Recently, Nike senior director Heidi Burgett has stated that Liverpool supporters will get to enjoy a brand new look next season in regards to the kits.
Burgett said: “We’re ditching the templates. For the 2020 kits, Nike designers had 65 chassis options available to them across varying necklines, sleeves, cuffs, badge placement, etc.”
Broadcaster Optus Sport decided to develop a few concept kits themselves, and one of them was of a Liverpool kit.
The kit developed by Optus Sport possesses a centred crest, which would be very different to anything that Nike have produced as of late.
It is unlikely that Nike will go with the centred crest for Liverpool’s 2020-21 kits, as it is quite an old look. However, it does not look too bad at all.
There is plenty of hype surrounding this kit deal, and there is no denying that Nike would like to get off to a good start. The opportunity for Nike to create something special is there.
