In 2007, Liverpool signed Fernando Torres from Atletico Madrid for a fee of €38 million.

Torres lit up Anfield for four years. The centre-forward scored 81 goals in 142 appearances for the Reds.

However, he departed the club for Chelsea in January 2011 for a fee of €58.50 million.

Recently, we tweeted a link to an interview that journalist Henry Winter conducted with Torres regarding his time at Anfield. The interview can be found in the Times.

Some Liverpool supporters reacted to our Twitter post and gave their honest opinion on the Spaniard.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Torres was such a good player for the Reds. The aforementioned statistics highlight that he was a very good finisher.

Seeing Torres go to Chelsea left us at Anfield Watch shattered. Chelsea are one of our rivals, which is why it hurt so much.

But, that is all in the past now. We have forgiven the Spaniard and that is because he did score a lot of goals for the club.

Torres never really got going at Chelsea. He scored 45 goals and registered 35 assists in 172 appearances for the Blues.
