Reds left-back Andy Robertson has stated that Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson deserves to be crowned the Premier League Player of the Year.
Henderson has been exceptional for Liverpool this season. The captain is one of the key reasons why Liverpool possess a 22-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
Henderson has only grown in confidence since lifting the UEFA Champions League trophy seven months ago. The Englishman has also lifted the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup this season.
If the Reds go on and win the Premier League title, Henderson will be the first Liverpool captain to lift that particular trophy.
Robertson believes that Henderson’s form makes him a serious contender for the Premier League Player of the Year.
"In this country, he's not been appreciated enough throughout his career, but now he's getting the recognition."

It is difficult to disagree with Robertson. There is a serious lack of respect for Henderson by many people involved in football.
Henderson is not the best player to ever grace Anfield, but he deserves more respect than what people give him.
His passing range, alongside his ability to run, remain his greatest strengths as a player. However, many simply ignore that he has quality.
He is also starting to lift trophies that many players do not get the opportunity to lift.
