Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has said that his commitment to the club will not change despite the fact his contract expires within six months.
As Lallana’s contract expires come the end of the season, that ultimately means he can discuss and agree terms with other clubs as of right now.
If he does choose to leave, he will then be able to join his chosen club in six months time on a free transfer. Despite all this, Lallana is ready to fight until the end and win more trophies with Liverpool.
“It’s easy to keep working.” Lallana told Off the Ball, as quoted by The Liverpool Offside.
“I’m enjoying playing for the best team in the world, it’s as simple as that.
“Whatever my contract situation is, that will be going on in the background. There’s not a chance that that will affect my commitment to this club.
“I have given 110% throughout my Liverpool career and will continue to do so, whether that finishes at the end of the season or whether that continues.
“It’s a great squad, a great bunch of lads and I couldn’t be enjoying my football any more.”
It appears that Lallana would still like to be playing football on a regular basis, which is currently not the case under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool right now.
Klopp has always been a fan of Lallana, but Liverpool are so strong in midfield, which does make it difficult for him to get the minutes he would like.
It would be a shame to see Lallana go, as he has always been a handy option for the Reds. But, one can understand why he would like to try a new challenge.
