Ryan Kent could be on his way to newly-promoted Aston Villa this summer, according to Goal.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a fine season on loan at Rangers throughout the 2018/19 campaign, winning the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award.

Steven Gerrard is eager to keep him at Ibrox again this coming season but is being priced out of a move.

The Reds want at least £12million for the winger, who they rate very highly, with Villa and Middlesborough interested in securing his signature on a permanent basis.

Kent is contracted at Liverpool until 2022 so the Reds are under no real pressure to sell him, but with his value at an all-time high after an eye-catching season in Scotland, the Anfield hierarchy have determined that now’s the best time to let him move on.

He will more than likely leave Liverpool this summer, though his destination could take some time to ascertain.
